MAI Award

 

This bi-annual award is established to encourage progress in autoimmunity research. 
This is a prize awarded to 3 young scientists who have enriched the field of autoimmunity
through outstanding, creative and independent research.

The Award Ceremony will be held at the Autoimmunity Congress in Lisbon ​in May 2018, where the winner will be presented with an award of USD 30,000 and will be invited to hold a plenary lecture. Two additional winners will each receive USD 10,000 and will be invited to present a lecture.

Application for the MAI Award 2018 will be open September 1 - September 30, 2017.

Selection is made by an International Scientific Committee comprised of well established authorities within the autoimmunity disease fields.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Award considerations are:

  • Up to the age of 40 as of October 1, 2017
  • Quality and impact of scientific publications (= H index)
  • Research in the forefront
  • Quality and level of independence 
  • Professional implication on career 
You can either apply yourself or nominate somebody. The candidate should be a not
yet established scientist (no head of departme​nt or professor).

GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATION / NOMINATION TO THE MAI (MOSAIC OF AUTOIMMUNITY) AWARD

Information needed to be supplied when applying yourself or nominating a candidate for the Award. The applicant/nominee should be a not yet established scientist (no department head or professor).

1. The following information of the candidate is required

2. A motivation (half a page) why you/this person should be a candidate for the Award.
    The Scientific Committee will take into consideration the following:
  • Quality and impact of scientific publications (= H index) 
  • Is the research in the forefront of international efforts?
  • The quality and level of independence of the research.
  • Professional implications the prize may have on the candidate’s career.

3. Enclose a list of all the candidates publications, devided into originals and reviews.

4. Highlight and enclose 3–5 of his/her most important articles.
